Wagner Richard - Isoldes Liebestod (Sylvain Blassel)

De toutes les oeuvres de Richard Wagner, la Mort d'Isolde est probablement celle qui a suscité le plus de transcriptions. Si celle de Franz Liszt est certainement la plus connue, elle a souvent éclipsé les versions de Max Reger, Moritz Moszkowsky, Carl Tausig, Louis Winkler, Albert Heintz, Henry Lemare, Rudolf Bibl, ou Alexander Ritter.

Certaines de ces versions ne sont pas injouables à la harpe, et même celle de Liszt est techniquement réalisable, en n'adaptant qu'à peine. Mais les caractéristiques du piano sont telles que certains effets pianistiques deviennent facilement ridicules à la harpe. Cette transcription pour harpe repose donc uniquement sur la première édition de Tristan und Isolde (Breitkopf & Härtel, 1860) en tâchant d'oublier toutes ces nombreuses versions pour piano pour éviter d'être influencé par des effets trop peu harpistiques.







Of all Richard Wagner's masterpieces, Love Death from Tristan and Isolde has probably been the most transcripted one. Although the version of Franz Liszt is definitely the most famous, it has often overshadowed the ones of Max Reger, Moritz Moszkowsky, Carl Tausig, Louis Winkler, Albert Heintz, Henry Lemare, Rudolf Bibl or Alexander Ritter.

It is possible to play some of them on the harp and even the one written by Liszt is technically achievable with only a few adaptations. However, because of the specificities of the piano, its effects are not far from becoming ridiculous once performed on the harp. As a consequence, this transcription for the harp is based only on the first edition of Tristan and Isolde (Breitkopf & Härtel, 1860) trying to forget all those piano versions in order not to be too much influenced by non harpistic effects.
