"Sonata  for Harp" was commissioned by Coleg Harlech, in association with the Welsh

The Sonata was revised by the composer in 1992, and the first performance of the revised version was given by Ieuan Jones at the Newbury Festival on May 1993, followed by the Welch première of the final version at the Machynlleth Festival on 26 August 1994.
